Is there evidence of a US programme to reverse-engineer non-human technology that any of them could have worked on?
Three answers, none aheadNone is ahead yet. See what would settle it.
Where it stands
Three answers have been proposed. None is ahead on the evidence yet. Three are still possible.
Why it matters
The UFO strand of the story, the "reverse tech" idea, needs two things: that such a programme exists, and that someone on the list worked on it. The first is the subject of the site's mystery on US government UAP disclosures, whose question "Does the US government hold recovered non-human craft or materials, as witnesses have testified?" (https://mysteriesdept.com/r/QST0CXDNKG005SN) weighs Grusch's testimony against the Pentagon's historical review[1][2]. This question asks only the second part, and what the record shows of McCasland's own link to UFO work[3][4].

What would settle it
- Watch for releases under the UAP records provisions and any further FOIA release by the DoD Inspector General of Grusch's submissions (withheld in full under DODOIG-2024-000205), and record whether any names a retrieval programme or anyone on the list.
