Anna Margherita Jasink
Aegean scholar (Florence); seal classification and the DBAS-CHS database
Anna Margherita Jasink is professor at the University of Florence whose 2009 book reclassified the seal inscriptions and restored excluded motifs as candidate signs, and who built the DBAS-CHS seal database; with Judith Weingarten in 2024 she argued the seals were ornaments naming their owners., and appears in the record of Cretan Hieroglyphic as aegean scholar (Florence); seal classification and the DBAS-CHS database.
One event on the site involves Jasink: Civitillo, Ferrara and Meissner publish the first collective volume on the script (2024).
Four questions rest in part on what Jasink did or said, among them “How many distinct signs does the script have?”, which stands open: 2 answers, none ahead.
