Silvia Ferrara is professor of Aegean civilisation at the University of Bologna and principal investigator of the ERC project INSCRIBE (2018 to 2024), which re-examined the Cretan Hieroglyphic sign list, the seal motifs and the relation to Linear A, and made 3D models of the documents., and appears in the record of Cretan Hieroglyphic as philologist (Bologna); INSCRIBE project, sign-list revision, co-editor of the 2024 volume.
Two events on the site involve Ferrara, from Montecchi, Ferrara and Valério reduce the sign list from 144 to about 98 (2021) to Civitillo, Ferrara and Meissner publish the first collective volume on the script (2024).
