McCoy signed the Air Materiel Command letter of 25 August 1947 calling the Danforth specimens a hoax unconnected with the Mogul project, and, as Chief, Intelligence Department, the November 1948 letter asking Langley AFB to investigate sightings between Wildwood and Norfolk [@usaf1947danforth] [@usaf1947incident88].
