The Psychro stone (disputed)
A small stone said to come from Psychro in the Lasithi plateau, published by Marinatos in 1958, with five words in Greek letters of about the 3rd century BC and three signs resembling Linear A. Brown (1978) and Duhoux (1982) treated it as Eteocretan; Kritzas (2006) argued it is a modern forgery, a verdict the Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum records, while Papakitsos and Kenanidis (2015, 2017) defend it and offer a Sumerian-based reading. Its status decides whether any Eteocretan text links the alphabetic language to Bronze Age signs.
