GC–MS analysis of lipids in prehistoric rock paints and associated oxalate coatings from the Lower Pecos region, Texas
S. Spades, Jon Russ, 2005. Archaeometry 47(1), pp. 115 to 126.
Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry of fatty acids in Lower Pecos paint and in the rock coating around it. About 30 organic compounds were found in the coating and none unique to the paint, so fat binders were either not used or have degraded.
