Life and Death Sounds of Iceberg A53a

Robert P. Dziak, Matthew J. Fowler, Haruyoshi Matsumoto et al., 2013. Oceanography 26(2).

Hydrophones moored in the Scotia Sea recorded iceberg A53a (about 55 by 25 km) from 2007 until its breakup near South Georgia on 2 February 2008: harmonic tremor while it scraped shoals, then short broadband icequakes as it disintegrated. Estimates the acoustic energy released.
