Non-grey dimming events of KIC 8462852 from GTC spectrophotometry

Hans J. Deeg, Roi Alonso, David Nespral et al., 2018. Astronomy & Astrophysics 610, L12.

Spectrophotometry from the 10.4-metre Gran Telescopio Canarias during the 2017 dips. The dips are deeper in blue than red, with an Ångström absorption coefficient of 2.19 ± 0.45, consistent with optically thin dust of 0.0015 to 0.15 micron grains. Such grains would be blown out by radiation pressure, so they must be replenished from a comoving body within days.
