The Cascajal Block: New Line Drawing, Distributional Analysis, and Orthographic Patterns

David F. Mora-Marín, 2020. Ancient Mesoamerica 31(2), pp. 210 to 229.

A new line drawing from Carrasco and Englehardt's documentation, a distributional test of the 2006 and 2009 sign inventories, and the argument that irregularities in sign co-occurrence match spelling practice in logosyllabic scripts; proposes a repeated PELT-PAW sign pair and builds on Carrasco and Englehardt's 2015 identification of paired signs as diphrastic kennings. Two supplementary ZIP files.
