The Puzzle of the Flyby Anomaly

Slava G. Turyshev, Viktor T. Toth, 2009. Space Science Reviews 148(1–4), 169–174.

A review by two of the Pioneer anomaly analysts. Gives the measured values (Galileo 1990 3.92 ± 0.08 mm/s; NEAR 13.46 ± 0.13; Cassini 2 ± 1; Rosetta 2005 1.80 ± 0.03; MESSENGER none), argues that incorrect modelling of reference frames and spheres of influence in navigation software must be excluded before new physics, and urges preservation of tracking and engineering data.
