JCMT-Venus: Long-term Monitoring of Chemical Variability in Venus' Upper Mesosphere

Wei Tang, David Clements, Jane Greaves et al., 2026. Europlanet Science Congress 2026, The Hague, 7–11 September 2026, EPSC2026-1119.

Conference abstract. Four multi-week JCMT campaigns completed and a fifth approved for July 2026, probing 90–110 km. Reports long-term variability of SO2 and an anti-correlated response in H2O, a local-solar-time trend in SO2, constraints on SO, H2SO4 and OCS, and a "re-detection" of phosphine whose robustness is to be discussed.
