Venus Phosphine: Updates and lessons learned

David L. Clements, 2024. arXiv (Kavli-IAU Symposium 387 proceedings).

Reports the JCMT-Venus monitoring programme: 200 hours awarded, campaigns in February 2022, July 2023 and September 2023 with the new Ū'ū receiver, which covers phosphine, HDO and SO2 at once. Phosphine and HDO are recovered with a Fourier ripple-removal method, and a preliminary abundance of about 0.3 ppm at about 55 km is reported from an experimental post-hoc frequency-switching method.
