Smith's Cove timber structure and drains
Not kept here. This copy isn't ours to show. See it where it's published.
MacPhie and Wonnacott, who believe the flood tunnel is man-made, concluded that the north arm of the timber structure is searchers' work and its east side and south arm probably are too, so the timbers cannot date any original work. They suggest the U-shaped structure follows the line of the 1866 cofferdam. No laboratory dating report for any Smith's Cove timber has been published.
