Plato's ring widths add to 27 stades, about 5 km; 127 needs the city wall 50 stades beyond

Plato gives the rings as 3, 3, 2, 2 and 1 stades wide around an island 5 stades across, 27 stades in all, about 5 km at the Loeb translator's 600 feet to the stade; the 127-stadia figure adds the wall that ran 50 stades beyond the largest ring on each side.
