What it's used for here

Science Advances 7(39), eabi7673. Open access (CC BY-NC). Genomes of 82 individuals from Etruria and southern Italy, 800 BC to AD 1000: Iron Age Etruscans carry steppe-related ancestry like their Latin neighbours and show no recent Anatolian admixture, so the non-Indo-European language survived a population turnover that brought Indo-European languages elsewhere.
