In the Beginning Was Music! Computational Analysis of the Hymn to Nikkal and the Rig Veda Reveals Musical Connection Between Distant Bronze Age Societies
Dan C. Baciu, 2025.
What it's used for here
Preprints.org, June 2025, not peer reviewed. Takes Hagel's duration reading of the numerals, notes that 2 and 4 outnumber 3 and 5, and compares the resulting rhythm with Rig Veda verse endings against 1,000 shuffled controls. Recorded as a recent computational attempt whose premise (a fixed rhythmic reading) is itself contested.
