What it's used for here
Biblical Archaeology Review library sidebar, undated. Puts the total at about 500,000 tablets with no official count; British Museum about 130,000, Yale Babylonian Collection about 40,000, then Penn Museum, Berlin, Louvre, Istanbul and Baghdad; says many tablets have sat a century unstudied. Used for the per-museum holdings; the figures are journalistic and should be checked against the museums.
