KIC 8462852: Transit of a Large Comet Family
Eva H. L. Bodman, Alice Quillen, 2016. The Astrophysical Journal Letters 819(2), L34.
Models the dips as swarms of comets. A close group of about 30 comets of 100 km radius, or 300 of 10 km, can reach a 20 per cent depth; a single comet family from a disrupted Ceres-sized body fits the last 60 days of Kepler data but not the large Quarter 8 dip.
What it's used for here
The quantitative comet-family model and its limits.
