KIC 8462852 Faded Throughout the Kepler Mission
Benjamin T. Montet, Joshua D. Simon, 2016. The Astrophysical Journal Letters 830(2), L39.
Photometry from the Kepler full-frame images shows the star faded by 0.341 ± 0.041 per cent per year for about 1,000 days, then by more than 2 per cent in about 200 days. None of 193 nearby comparison stars or 355 similar stars behaves this way, and no known stellar process explains the light curve.
What it's used for here
Independent confirmation of a fade on a timescale of years, from a different instrument than the plates.
