A stringent upper limit of 20 pptv for methane on Mars and constraints on its dispersion outside Gale crater

F. Montmessin, O. I. Korablev, A. Trokhimovskiy et al., 2021. Astronomy & Astrophysics 650, A140.

640 ACS solar occultations over 1.44 Mars years: no methane, with 1-sigma limits of about 10 pptv in clear northern summer and an annual mean of the smallest limits of 20 pptv. Near Gale, limits are up to four times below Curiosity's background for the same season.
