Testing of a modified Seistec seismic reflection profiler and its application to the marine geology of offshore eastern Oak Island, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada

Peter G. Simpkin, Gordon B. J. Fader, 2024. Atlantic Geoscience 60: 001-014.

Sub-bottom seismic profiles shot off eastern Oak Island in 2017, read against the 1996 multibeam survey. Describes the island (seven drumlins, a triangular swamp between the two largest, a 160 m causeway), maps sinkholes and pockmarks off South Shore Cove, and notes that most geologists conclude the shafts and tunnels are searchers' work.
