The Mysterious History of Cattle Mutilation
Adam Janos, 2021. History.com.
A popular history of the mutilation wave. Reports that the FBI closed its inquiry on New Mexico's Indian lands on 15 January 1980, finding none of the cases involved "mutilations by other than common predators," and that pathologists attribute the "bloodless" look to blood settling after death.
