Mathematically Optimal Restoration and Stabilization of the Patterson-Gimlin Film with Computation Feature Detection

Isaac Y. Tian, Bill Munns, Jeff Meldrum, 2022. The Relict Hominoid Inquiry 11: 263–287.

Photographs 150 frames around the "lookback" frame (F354) from eight independent second-generation prints, aligns them with SIFT features, stabilises them to a background with a RANSAC-fitted homography, colour-corrects each, and composites them to raise the signal-to-noise ratio without manual retouching or AI interpolation; renders at 16 fps on the basis of the K-100's minimum speed.
