The Massive and Quiescent Elliptical Host Galaxy of the Repeating Fast Radio Burst FRB 20240209A

T. Eftekhari, Y. Dong, W. Fong et al., 2025. The Astrophysical Journal Letters 979(2), L22.

The first repeater localised with the CHIME/FRB Outriggers lies in a massive, quiescent elliptical galaxy at z = 0.1384, about 11 billion years old in its stars. With FRB 20200120E, this points to a channel distinct from the core collapse of massive stars.
