From a Different Star: 3I/ATLAS in the Context of the Ōtautahi-Oxford Interstellar Object Population Model

Matthew J. Hopkins, Rosemary C. Dorsey, John C. Forbes et al., 2025. The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Places 3I in a Gaia-based population model: its velocity and radiant are as expected, its speed implies an age above 7.6 billion years and a high water fraction, and it is very unlikely to share an origin with 1I or 2I. ApJL 990, L30.
