Fitting the Light Curve of 1I/'Oumuamua with a Nonprincipal Axis Rotational Model and Outgassing Torques

Aster G. Taylor, Darryl Z. Seligman, Olivier R. Hainaut et al., 2023. The Planetary Science Journal.

Extends Mashchenko's model with Sun-driven, time-varying outgassing torques and fits the October 2017 data with an average period of about 7.34 h. The best fit to October does not reproduce November, and the light curve is consistent with no secular change in angular momentum, which is in some tension with how comets spin up when they outgas. PSJ 4, 186.
