Identification of the source of dolerites used at the Waun Mawn stone circle in the Mynydd Preseli, west Wales and implications for the proposed link with Stonehenge

Richard E. Bevins, Nick J.G. Pearce, Mike Parker Pearson et al., 2022. Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports.

The dolerites remaining at Waun Mawn come from Cerrigmarchogion, not from Carn Goedog, the source of most Stonehenge dolerites; the authors conclude Waun Mawn cannot have supplied Stonehenge's dolerite bluestones.
