A Glyph Is Not a Letter, a Token Is Not a Word, a Space Is Not a Space
L. Rozanova, A. Temerev, 2026.
An arXiv preprint arguing that the obvious units of Voynichese do not behave as their names suggest: glyphs are not letters, tokens are not words and spaces are not word spaces.
What it's used for here
The surveys take from it the measurements any cipher hypothesis must reproduce, such as the low conditional entropy and the 70% singleton rate, and its finding that a published generator and a Voynich-imitating cipher each fail some of them.
