Juno's Earth perigee, 9 October 2013
flyby perigee (ground point)
Note
The point on the ground beneath Juno at closest approach (2013-10-09 19:21:25 UTC), over the Indian Ocean south-east of South Africa, computed from JPL Horizons' reconstructed trajectory (sub-observer point, geodetic; distance 6,932 km from Earth's centre). Acedo (2017) tabulates the same perigee's geocentric latitude. The Planetary Society's report says the path passed very close to South Africa.
