The Fara (Shuruppak) UD.GAL.NUN literary tablets
Early Dynastic IIIa literary and incantation tablets from the German excavations of 1902 and 1903 at Fara, published in Deimel's Schultexte aus Fara (1923) and long treated as unintelligible until Krecher recognised in 1978 that they use the UD.GAL.NUN sign-substitution system. Most of the mythological compositions in this orthography have still not been translated.
