Emmanuel Laroche
French Hittitologist and Hurrian specialist who edited the Hurrian texts from Ugarit (1955, 1968). 1914–1991.
Emmanuel Laroche is french philologist of Hittite and Hurrian (1914 to 1991), editor of the Ugarit Hurrian texts in Ugaritica V (1914–1991), and appears in the record of Hurrian songs of Ugarit as french Hittitologist and Hurrian specialist who edited the Hurrian texts from Ugarit (1955, 1968).
Two events on the site involve Laroche, from Laroche publishes the first Hurrian fragments from Ugarit (1955) to Gurney and Wulstan publish the Ur tuning text; Laroche publishes the full Hurrian edition in Ugaritica V (1968).
One question rest in part on what Laroche did or said, among them “Are the syllables repeated at the ends of lines in h.6 refrains, or an artefact of the spiral layout?”, which stands no evidence yet.
