## What it's used for here

Oxford DPhil (supervisors Dahl and Collins). A sign-by-sign study of the gender and age signs in proto-cuneiform and proto-Elamite. Finds that the 'herded humans' accounts Englund 2009 drew his names from are explicitly recorded in less than 1% of proto-cuneiform texts, and that later scholars over-generalised from them. Used here to bound how representative the archaic name set is.
