## What it's used for here

History of the "Vinča script" idea from the short-chronology era through Pešić's 1987 "decipherment" via Etruscan and Cyrillic look-alikes, to the 2004 Novi Sad conference and the 2005 Documenta Praehistorica issue; argues there is no evidence for a script or proto-script and that the claim is sustained by nationalism and media. Arhaika 5: 143-165 (Belgrade).
