## What it's used for here

Re-investigation of the Tărtăria find: the human bones from the pit are a woman of about 50-55; radiocarbon Rome-1631 6310 ± 65 BP (5370-5140 cal BC, 1 sigma) and Rome-1655 6210 ± 65 BP for animal bone, placing the complex in early Vinča. The authors treat the tablets as genuine and the fragility as due to acid cleaning, not firing. Documenta Praehistorica 32: 205-219. Open access.
