## What it's used for here

Bibliotheca Orientalis 35, pp. 155-160. Krecher's identification of the UD.GAL.NUN system: a set of regular sign substitutions (UD for AN "god", GAL for EN "lord", NUN for LIL, hence the name) in Early Dynastic literary tablets from Fara and Abu Salabikh, which makes those texts unreadable until the substitutions are undone. Used for the definition of the UD.GAL.NUN orthography.
