# Unlocking the Atmospheric Secrets of the Marfa Mystery Lights

Ed Darack, 2008. _Weatherwise 61(3), 36–43_.

A popular-science magazine article by a Weatherwise corresponding editor. As summarised by Borraz and Ballester Olmos, it identifies headlights on US 67 as the source of the lights and argues that simple refraction and a variety of mirages explain their shimmering, blooming, jumping and splitting, which the author observed himself.
