# Letter to Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum re Chaco Canyon (proposed revocation of Public Land Order 7923)

Records that Public Land Order 7923, finalised in June 2023, withdrew federal minerals within 10 miles of the park for 20 years, and that Interior's draft Environmental Assessment of 15 July 2026 proposes revoking it in full, after a 21-day comment period with more than 300,000 comments.
