# Archaeogenomic evidence reveals prehistoric matrilineal dynasty

Reports that nine individuals buried in the Room 33 crypt at Pueblo Bonito share identical mitochondrial genomes and that nuclear data from six show mother-daughter and grandmother-grandson relationships, read as an elite matriline persisting from about 800 to 1130 CE.
