# Life and Death Sounds of Iceberg A53a

Robert P. Dziak, Matthew J. Fowler, Haruyoshi Matsumoto et al., 2013. _Oceanography 26(2)_.

Hydrophones moored in the Scotia Sea recorded iceberg A53a (about 55 by 25 km) from 2007 until its breakup near South Georgia on 2 February 2008: harmonic tremor while it scraped shoals, then short broadband icequakes as it disintegrated. Estimates the acoustic energy released.
