# Secular dimming of KIC 8462852 following its consumption of a planet

Brian D. Metzger, Ken J. Shen, Nicholas Stone, 2017. _Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society 468(4), 4399–4407_.

Proposes that the star swallowed a planet in the recent past and that the slow fade is the star returning to equilibrium after a brightening, with debris from the planet's moons or tidal disruption producing the dips.
