# No random transits in CHEOPS observations of HD 139139

R. Alonso, S. Hoyer, M. Deleuil et al., 2023. _Astronomy & Astrophysics 680, A78_.

CHEOPS watched the star for 12.75 days in 15 visits of about 20 hours, in 2021 and 2022, sensitive to dips deeper than about 150 ppm and longer than about 1.5 hours. Simulations from the K2 dips predicted at least one detection with 95 per cent probability; none was seen. The authors leave three explanations: bad luck, dipping that had stopped or grown shallower, or unidentified, infrequent instrumental noise in the K2 data.
