# Assessment of ball lightning cases by correlated LLS data

Alexander G. Keul, Gerhard Diendorfer, 2018. _34th International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP 2018), IEEE_.

Matches 34 ball-lightning reports from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Switzerland (1994–2016) with EUCLID lightning-location data. Close cases had a cloud-to-ground stroke a mean 0.42 km away (range 0–0.8 km); higher peak currents went with shorter distances; most distant strokes are probably unrelated.
