# Temperature of apparent natural ball lightning obtained by examination of the spectra

Tingting An, Ping Yuan, Jianyong Cen et al., 2022. _Physics of Plasmas 29(11), 113503_.

Re-analyses the 2012 spectra: stable luminosity with a periodic oscillation; soil lines (Si I, Fe I, Ca I) give most of the light while air lines (N I, O I) carry the oscillation; mean temperatures of 8,750 K from O I, 4,330 K from Si I, 4,600 K from Fe I and 2,700 K from the continuum, suggesting a hotter energy-source core.
