# Retraction: Geo-Archaeological prospecting of Gunung Padang buried prehistoric pyramid in West Java, Indonesia

The retraction notice by Wiley and the journal's co-editors-in-chief. It finds a major error not caught in peer review: the radiocarbon dates came from soil samples not associated with any artefacts or features that could be reliably interpreted as anthropogenic, so the interpretation of a pyramid built 9,000 or more years ago is incorrect.
