# Contribution of VLF electromagnetic survey to the investigation of Hessdalen lights (Norway)

G. N. Vargemezis, J. Zlotnicki, B. G. Hauge et al., 2024. _Journal of Applied Geophysics 226, 105398_.

VLF measurements at about 20 m spacing along traces totalling about 100 km over about 100 km², from six geophysical campaigns that sometimes included total-field magnetic and self-potential surveys. Finds conductive zones, mainly sulphide deposits, whose surface traces may outline a 6 × 12 km SW–NE ellipse following the gabbro intrusion, and argues that these near-surface structures (less than a few hundred metres deep) could supply the generation of the lights and explain why they appear in this valley. Received March 2022, accepted 10 May 2024.
