# Animal Mutilations: What We Know

George E. Onet, 2000. _National Institute for Discovery Science_.

NIDS's veterinary pathologist summarises the mutilation literature: the soft tissues usually missing, the FBI-era finding of predators, and the minority reports (a Colorado pathologist's and a 1991 Oregon State laboratory's) of lesions consistent with heat or electrosurgery, which he notes could also be desiccation.
