# TN CM Stalin Announces $1-Million Prize For Deciphering Indus Script

Report of 5 January 2025: at the inaugural ceremony of the International Seminar on the Centenary of the Discovery of the Indus Valley Civilisation at the Government Museum, Egmore, Chennai, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin announced a US$1 million prize for a decipherment, a Rs 2 crore research chair named after Iravatham Mahadevan, and said about 60 per cent of Indus pottery symbols match marks on Tamil Nadu artefacts.
