DNA from dust vacuumed from the image area and the radiocarbon edge: plants from the Mediterranean, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, and human mitochondrial lineages typical of Western Europe, the Near East, Arabia and India. Compatible with a medieval European origin or with the cloth's traditional journey.
