# Analysis of textile fragments from the 1988 radiocarbon samples of the Turin Shroud

Rachel Freer-Waters, A. J. Timothy Jull, 2026. _npj Heritage Science 14: 263_.

Textile analysis of two further fragments (A1A, about 14 x 3.5 mm, and A1B) of the Arizona sample, compared with the control textiles: flax fibres consistent with the main body of the cloth, no cotton observed, no evidence of contamination. Summarises the sampling of 21 April 1988 and the controversy since.
