# Alert 747

G. H. (Sandia National Laboratories) Mauth, 1980. _National Security Archive Electronic Briefing Book 190, Document 8_.

Sandia report of 1 May 1980 noting that only Vela 6911, of all bhangmeter-equipped satellites, saw the double flash; disputes from laser calibration tests that the bhangmeter difference was a malfunction, yet concludes the signal was "fully consistent" with a low-yield atmospheric detonation.
